BAIRD CLOCK CO. PLATTSBURG, NY. (C. 1890)

In the heyday of American clock making and interesting marketing approach emerged. Clocks were used for advertising since in many cases a clock was the focus of attention in many business locations. The most unique and decorative of all the advertising clocks are those made by the Baird Clock Co. While Baird clocks are seen on the market, the perfect example is almost impossible to find due to the fact that these clocks were in busy locations and they were used to advertise. This is the BEST Baird we have seen. It is virtually flawless, 100% original and in untouched condition. The paint is bright with a fine finish and the dial is original and signed. This super nice example is in good running order and runs for 8 days. The movement is also signed Baird Clock Co. $2000.

HOWARD CLOCK CO. CUSTOM MADE REGULATOR

We have been collecting Howard clocks for more than 30 years and it is always exciting to find one that was made to order. Although most Howard clocks were made to order, except for the #5 and #70 and others that were sold in large quantities, few were made to order using the customer's required design and case size. We have been fortunate to have several of these unique pieces over the years. The black walnut case is 50 inches long and 14 inches wide with a 10 inch dial. Everything on the clock is 100% original except for the repainted glass which is exactly as the original. All else is as it was when it left the Howard factory. The signed movement is driven by the original cast weight and keeps perfect time. The gold gilt pendulum rod and damaskened bob are in wonderful condition as is the original weight board and tie down. The dial is super nice with fancy script signature. A rare clock for the advanced collector. $20500.

HOWARD CUSTOM WATCHMAN REGULATOR

During the 1800's the Howard Clock Co. was the most prestigious of all and known for making the best clocks.Howard clocks were expensive due to the quality and craftsmanship. Today, Howard clocks are the most highly prized. This is one of the rare Howard clocks, a watchman clock made to be displayed in a prominent place. The case is very much like the Howard #39 with a finely carved top and bottom. The black walnut case is 63 inches long. The clock is 100% original and in excellent condition. The brass disc at the bottom is ringed with pins that are pushed in by pushing on the lever on the side of the case. The pins are pushed back out by a cast iron piece behind the dial at the end of the day, a unique and efficient and simple mechanism that demonstrates the ingenuity of the Howard designers. The case retains the original finish and deep, rich patina. Untouched, all original Howard clocks are extrememly hard to find especially such a unique piece as this. In all the years we have purchased Howard clocks this is by far the best watchman clock we have seen. Please call or email for price.
